DUUL uses SMS text messaging to help you connect with other players and stay informed about your games. This page explains how we use SMS messaging, what messages you may receive, and how to manage your preferences.

Consent to Receive SMS Messages

By creating a DUUL account and providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from DUUL at the phone number you provided. You will be asked to confirm your consent during the account registration process by checking a consent checkbox.

Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from DUUL. You may use DUUL without SMS messaging, though some features may be limited.

How to Opt-In

You can opt-in to receive SMS messages from DUUL in the following ways:

  • 1During Registration: When you create a DUUL account, you will enter your mobile phone number and check a box confirming your consent to receive SMS messages.
  • 2In App Settings: You can enable SMS notifications at any time through your account settings in the DUUL mobile app.

Checkbox is unchecked by default. Users must actively check this box to opt-in.

Types of SMS Messages You May Receive

Once you opt-in, you may receive the following types of SMS messages from DUUL:

  • Game Invitations: Notifications when another player invites you to play
  • Invitation Responses: Updates when someone accepts or declines your invitation
  • Game Reminders: Reminders about upcoming scheduled games
  • Account Verification: One-time codes to verify your phone number
  • Security Alerts: Important notifications about your account security

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity on DUUL. If you actively send and receive game invitations, you may receive multiple messages per day. If you are less active, you may receive fewer messages. On average, users receive approximately 2-10 messages per week depending on their usage.

Message and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless carrier for details about your text messaging plan.

How to Opt-Out (Stop Messages)

You can opt-out of receiving SMS messages from DUUL at any time using any of the following methods:

  • 1Reply STOP: Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any SMS message you receive from DUUL.
  • 2In App Settings: Disable SMS notifications in your account settings within the DUUL mobile app.
  • 3Contact Support: Email us at support@duul.app with your phone number and request to be removed from SMS messaging.

After you opt-out, you will receive a final confirmation message. You will no longer receive SMS messages from DUUL unless you opt back in. Note that opting out of SMS may limit certain app features.

Supported Carriers

SMS messaging is supported on most major U.S. carriers, including but not limited to:

AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your phone number and SMS data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your information is only used to provide the DUUL service and send you the messages described above.
